Driver Agreement (summary)
A plain-English summary of the delivery partner agreement — the agreement itself governs.
About this summary
This is a plain-English summary of the agreement between Cariverr and an independent delivery partner. It is a summary for transparency — it is not the agreement itself, and where this summary and the agreement differ, the agreement governs. Anyone applying to deliver should read the full agreement presented at application.
1. Your status
- You are an independent delivery partner. You operate your own delivery business.
- You are not an employee of Cariverr. Cariverr does not withhold payroll taxes on your behalf for deliveries performed as an independent partner.
- You are responsible for your own taxes, your own vehicle costs and your own legally required insurance.
- You may work for other platforms and take other work.
2. What you control
- When you work. You choose whether to be available; there are no fixed shifts and no minimum number of deliveries.
- Which jobs you accept. Each job shows what it pays before you decide.
- How you deliver. You choose your route and the lawful manner of performing the delivery.
3. What you must do
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver's licence and use a roadworthy vehicle.
- Maintain insurance for the vehicle you deliver with, as required by law, and tell us if it lapses.
- Pass identity verification and background screening before being activated.
- Handle items with reasonable care and deliver them to the address given in the job.
- Record proof of delivery where the job calls for it.
- Comply with all applicable traffic and road laws.
4. Pay
- Each job shows what it pays before you accept it.
- Completed deliveries are reconciled and paid out weekly.
- In New York City, Cariverr applies the app-based delivery minimum-pay standard under Local Law 115. If your pay for a delivery falls short of the required floor, Cariverr tops up the difference.
- Cariverr does not publish individual fee splits or cost constants on this website; your pay terms are set out in your agreement and are visible per job in the app.
5. Where you can deliver
Delivery activity is currently in New York and Pennsylvania. Cariverr does not currently accept delivery orders with a New Jersey pickup or dropoff point. See Coverage.
6. Conduct that ends the relationship
Access may be suspended or removed for things such as: failing verification or screening, invalid or lapsed documentation, fraudulent activity, unsafe driving or handling, mistreating customers or businesses, or other material breach of the agreement. Where the law provides you a process, we follow it.
7. Ending the relationship
You may stop delivering at any time. Cariverr may deactivate a delivery partner as set out in the agreement. Amounts already earned for completed deliveries are paid on the normal payout cycle.
8. Data and privacy
Cariverr processes your personal information to onboard, verify and pay you, and to operate the service. See the Privacy Policy. Questions about your own screening or account: support@cariverr.com.
